About The Position

The line cook will play a critical role in preparing quality dishes efficiently in a fast-paced full-service restaurant. You must be able to work well under pressure, pay close attention to detail, and have a strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Good communication and teamwork skills are also essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • One year related experience and/or training is required
  • Ability to read and comprehend English
  • Current food handler card is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Must be able to work in an environment that requires physical activity under time constraints
  • Must be able to work with all products and food ingredients used in the kitchen
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employment

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of food items using various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Consistently adhere to standardized portion sizes, quality standards, kitchen guidelines, and standard operating procedures
  • Set up, stock, and maintain assigned stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality standards are met
  • Follow recipes and ensure food items are prepared following proper timing standards
  • Follow proper plate presentation and garnishment standards for all dishes
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation, reach-in cooler, and walk-in cooler
  • Check food temperatures before serving
  • Perform other duties as assigned
