About The Position

Covenant Woods is looking for a talented and dependable Full-Time and Part-Time Cooks to help prepare delicious, high-quality meals for our residents and special events. Requirements
- Previous commercial cooking experience preferred
- Experience with basic cooking techniques, including sautéing, frying, braising, and salad preparation
- ServSafe® Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Strong attention to food safety and sanitation
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and kitchen procedures
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to communicate well with residents and co-workers.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

Responsibilities
- Preparing, cooking, and portioning meals under the direction of the Chef
- Working a variety of stations, including sauté, fry, braising, and salad preparation
- Ensuring all food is cooked, held, and stored at proper temperatures
- Recording temperatures and following all food safety and sanitation procedures
- Keeping kitchens, workstations, equipment, coolers, and storage areas clean and organized
- Properly labeling, dating, and storing food products
- Supporting meal service for daily dining and special events
- Following all Virginia Department of Health regulations and ServSafe® standards
- Providing outstanding service while embracing Covenant Woods' commitment to excellence
- Ability to prepare all breakfast and lunch items to order, including eggs, pancakes, French toast, breakfast meats, hot cereals and sandwiches and salads according to resident preferences and diet orders
