About The Position

Arrow Senior Living is seeking a Line Cook for Cambridge Senior Living in Springfield, MO. This is an as needed/PRN position with a starting wage of $18.00 - $19.00 per hour. The role involves preparing menu items according to standards and recipes, ensuring quality and attractive presentation. The cook will also be responsible for maintaining health and hygiene protocols in food preparation and ensuring proper food temperatures. A key aspect of the role is to connect with residents, understand their preferences and needs, and participate in resident orientations.

Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
  • Possess a current Food Handlers Card as specified per the Department of Health.
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and competency in the areas of leadership, training, and supervision.
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills with other members of management, professional, and support staff.
  • Must be active as this role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be comfortable being in close contact with extreme temperatures, including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers.
  • Ability to work primarily indoors, but also be available to work outside for events.
  • Must be criminally cleared.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all menu items according to established standards and recipes.
  • Provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure health protocols are always followed, including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and proper food temperatures.
  • Familiarize yourself with the residents and their preferences and needs.
  • Participate in resident orientations.
