Line Cook The Opportunity UHP is seeking a Line Cook to help fuel the daily experience of our students and staff through quality meals and consistent execution. This role prepares and serves nutrient-dense meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards around food quality, safety, and service. You won’t just be cooking meals — you’ll be supporting the physical and mental performance of the individuals we serve.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of line cook, prep cook, or related kitchen experience preferred
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethic and team-first mindset
  • Reliable, consistent, and accountable
  • Attention to detail and pride in quality work
  • Ability to communicate and follow direction effectively
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work in a physically active environment throughout the shift

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals following recipes, portion standards, and nutritional guidelines
  • Execute cooking techniques including grilling, roasting, steaming, sautéing, and baking
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of meals
  • Set up, maintain, and break down kitchen stations
  • Maintain clean, organized workspaces and equipment
  • Support meal service in a high-volume dining environment
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and health standards
  • Maintain awareness of cross-contamination and dietary restrictions, including allergens and modified meal requests
  • Assist with routine kitchen cleaning and upkeep
