About The Position

Golfzon Social Hoyt, located in Brooklyn, NY, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Line Cook/Porter! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management. Golfzon Social is an exciting new Sports Bar and Restaurant anchored by a Golf Lounge with high-tech indoor golf simulators.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • NYC Food Handlers Certification
  • Basic ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
  • Basic math ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) required, as associates are required to weigh/measure ingredients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift.
  • Assist with food prep tasks as needed to ensure kitchen efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff to meet service demands.
  • Adapt to kitchen needs by taking on additional tasks during slower periods (e.g., restocking, cleaning, or prepping).
  • Utilizes whole food products, eliminating any waste.
  • Alerts chef or supervisor of any equipment breakdowns, food overages, or shortages in a timely manner.
  • Follows checklists and daily logs.
  • Requisitions inventory and receive supplies as necessary for daily production.
  • Ensures proper storage of food items, wraps, dates, and rotates food items.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Must possess high standards of personal hygiene.
  • Performs other duties as required by the Kitchen Manager.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and tools.
  • Wash dishes, cookware, and utensils, ensuring they are ready for use.
  • Remove trash and recycling from the kitchen, Bar, Dining Room, and dispose of it properly.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors, dining area, and maintain general cleanliness.
  • Thorough cleaning of restrooms.
  • Assist with organizing and restocking supplies.
  • Always follow proper food safety and sanitation guidelines.
