About The Position
Stella’s is looking for a Junior Line Cook to join their McIvor team. Stella’s is a growing local company with over nine locations across Winnipeg, operating since 1999. The Junior Line Cook role focuses on maintaining and exceeding guest satisfaction by preparing dishes according to recipes and standards, supporting the team by maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and growing culinary skills in a supportive kitchen. Training will be provided for various stations. The role operates the Sandwich, Salads, and Grills stations.
Requirements
- Maintain Manitoba Food Handler and WHMIS certificate
- Previous kitchen or food prep experience is an asset, but not required
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices
- Demonstrate a strong ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the team. This include both verbal communication and active listening to understand and respond to instructions and requests.
- Flexible availability to work a variety of shifts including days and evenings. Weekends are mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to Manitoba Food Safe requirements
- Assist in the preparation and assembly of menu items during service
- Follow recipes, portion standards, and kitchen procedures accurately
- Keep workstations stocked, sanitized, and organized
- Prep ingredients such as chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, etc.
- Support line cooks during peak service times
- Ensure food is prepared and presented to Stella’s quality standards
- Comply with all health and safety regulations
- Duties will include washing dishes and performing daily and weekly cleaning tasks
