About The Position

The Momofuku Commis will be joining the Back of House team, working towards being a Line cook. The commis will work closely with the chef team to assist the production of daily mise en place, maintain cleanliness of the space and equipment, execute select services all in preparation to become a line cook. The ideal Momofuku Commis candidate is eager and motivated to learn about the restaurant and passionate about consistency and deliciousness.

Requirements

  • General knife handling, food safety & sanitation knowledge
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience as a Prep Cook, Commis, Line Cook, or similar role
  • Proven ability to train new Commis in all aspects and responsibilities of the role
  • Ability to assist all stations during service
  • A proven track record of dependability and a continuous focus on learning and development

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Receive and properly store/organize food and restaurant supply deliveries
  • Assist with family meal production
  • Support line level culinary team during service as needed
  • Hone your existing skills while learning new techniques and building your skill set
  • Assist with cleaning, sanitation, organization and maintenance of kitchen and culinary equipment
  • Demonstrate safe and proper use of all kitchen equipment, including knife cutting skills
  • Maintain open and effective communication with Back of House team and Front of House team
  • Support other team members and foster a positive work environment
