About The Position
Davey Utility Line Clearance is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer to join their team servicing the Northwestern OH region. This role involves performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers, including climbing trees, pruning, removing broken limbs, and operating various equipment. The position offers an outdoor work environment with new views daily and opportunities for growth within the company.
Requirements
- Love of the outdoors
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
- Valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred
- Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
- Line clearance experience or other related tree work
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
- ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
Responsibilities
- Climb Trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
- Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers.
- Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
- Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
- Apply knowledge of tree identification and industry pruning guidelines.
- Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
- Operate as an active crew member supporting the ground crew and foreperson.
