Line Clearance Equipment Operator
About The Position
Davey Tree Surgery Co. is hiring an Equipment / Jarraff / SkyTrim Operator for its utility line-clearance team serving Carrollton and Carroll County, Ohio. This full-time, hourly position is performed outdoors and involves operating mobile equipment on utility rights-of-way while supporting tree-removal work. The operator is responsible for equipment and crew safety and assists with other crew duties. Travel expectations are up to 25%. Compensation is $22.00–$28.00 per hour, based on line-clearance or industry experience and CDL status. The position is permanent and includes a performance incentive plan, benefits for eligible employees, and access to industry-related and company training.
Requirements
- Love of the outdoors.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to successfully pass a mobile equipment operations certification test.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire.
Nice To Haves
- At least two years of mobile equipment operating experience and training that provides the necessary operating skills, knowledge, and abilities.
- Commercial Driver's License, Class A or B, with Air Brake Endorsement.
- Line-clearance experience or other related tree work.
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
- ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional certification.
Responsibilities
- Operate Jarraff or SkyTrim mobile equipment on utility rights-of-way.
- Be responsible for equipment and crew safety while trees are removed on utility rights-of-way.
- Assist with all job functions as a member of the crew.
