About The Position

Zifo is seeking a Laboratory Informatics Consultant with hands-on experience implementing and supporting enterprise LIMS platforms, especially Sapio or similar systems. The role focuses on sample-centric LIMS solutions and the full sample lifecycle in regulated laboratory environments. Consultants are expected to work independently on medium-complexity projects and collaborate with a global support team on larger projects. The consultant works with pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, and other regulated laboratory environments to design, configure, and deploy informatics solutions that improve data integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency. The role calls for understanding day-to-day laboratory operations and designing LIMS solutions for compliant, efficient, and traceable workflows, including configuration of supporting entities such as instruments and inventory. Requirements

At least 3 years of experience working with laboratory informatics systems, specifically Sapio.
Strong experience implementing and supporting sample lifecycle management in LIMS.
Solid understanding of laboratory workflows, such as QC, analytical, stability, manufacturing, or R&D.
Experience working in regulated environments, including GxP, FDA, or ISO, and familiarity with ALCOA+ principles.
Strong communication skills and experience working directly with laboratory and QA stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, technical, or related field.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on laboratory experience or a background in chemistry or biology.
Experience with complex sample models, such as stability programs, high-volume QC, or multi-site laboratories.
System validation and CSV documentation experience.
Exposure to LIMS integrations or configuration scripting.
Consulting or client-facing experience.
Experience supporting instrument or inventory data in the context of sample workflows rather than asset-centric implementations.
Experience working across multiple informatics systems, such as LIMS, ELN, CDS, and SDMS.

Responsibilities

Lead or support requirements gathering with laboratory stakeholders, emphasizing end-to-end sample lifecycle management.
Analyze laboratory processes related to sample receipt, testing, review, approval, and disposition.
Translate business and regulatory requirements into LIMS functional designs and configuration specifications.
Configure Sapio LIMS independently or as part of a national or global team for sample login, accessioning, chain of custody, test assignment and execution, calculations, result entry, specifications, limits, result evaluation, review, approval, release, and reporting workflows.
Configure supporting LIMS entities required for sample workflows, including tests, methods, materials, products, and locations.
Configure instrument and inventory data as required to support compliant sample testing.
Develop and execute system testing and validation deliverables, including IQ/OQ/PQ, test scripts, and traceability matrices.
Support user acceptance testing and defect resolution.
Assist with production deployment and go-live activities.
Provide post-implementation support focused on sample processing, results management, and workflow execution.
Troubleshoot issues affecting sample lifecycle workflows and data integrity.
Deliver end-user training and documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve LIMS efficiency, compliance, and usability.
