About The Position

This position is responsible for taking radiological images and pushing the images through the system. The role requires operating medical equipment to capture x-ray images, positioning patients and equipment safely, and possessing detailed knowledge of x-ray procedures. The technician must also explain procedures to patients and adhere to regulations for radiation protection.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • California Limited Technologist (LT) license with skull license required
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations set by state, federal and local law.
  • Understanding of EPM/EHR system.
  • Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making.
  • Skill in analyzing, planning, organization, and prioritization.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective internal and external working relationships.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to read and interpret medical documents.
  • Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
  • Ability to interact easily and effectively with others.
  • Ability to share expertise and knowledge with staff to maintain and improve workflow.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients and/or co-workers.
  • Standard office equipment including computers, iPad, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an Orthopedic Practice preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operating the medical equipment used to capture x-ray images.
  • Positioning the patient and the equipment in a way that protects patient and employee safety.
  • Explaining x-ray procedures to patients.
  • Following regulations for protecting patients, coworkers and themselves from unnecessary exposure to radiation.
