Limited Scope Radiology Technician
About The Position
The Limited Scope Radiology Technician, also described as a Limited-Certified Medical Assistant, performs radiographic examinations and provides patient care within the limited scope defined by the State Department of Health Professions. The role obtains diagnostic X-ray images safely, prepares and positions patients, uses equipment properly, and follows radiation-safety practices to support the provider’s clinical evaluation. Radiographic examinations are limited to the scope of practice established by state regulations for Limited Radiologic Technologists. The role also supports patient care and performs administrative and clinical tasks as a Certified Medical Assistant, as delegated by and under the direction or supervision of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse. This position is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and is listed for a swing shift.
Requirements
- Medical Assisting certification is required.
- Limited Radiologic Technician licensure is required if licensure applies in the state of practice.

Responsibilities
- Perform radiographic examinations within the limited scope defined by State Department of Health Professions regulations.
- Safely obtain diagnostic X-ray images.
- Prepare and position patients for procedures.
- Use radiographic equipment properly and follow radiation-safety practices.
- Support clinical evaluation by the provider.
- Provide patient care and perform administrative and clinical tasks as a Certified Medical Assistant, as delegated and supervised by a Physician, NP/PA, RN, or LPN.
