About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements for a mix of sites that include both full recertifications and recertification waivers. The role involves completing annual LIHTC and HOME recertifications, preparing and sending reminder notices to residents, commencing holdover for failure to recertify, ensuring all forms are completed accurately, and entering recertification data into Yardi. The specialist will also prepare for and assist in tenant file reviews and audits by investors, syndicators, and monitoring agencies, and complete various reporting tasks. Additionally, the role involves tracking audits, reporting, and recertifications, meeting with residents as needed, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • 3+ years’ experience in affordable housing needed.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office MS Excel, required.
  • Proficiency in Yardi Affordable is required.
  • Tax Credit Certification is required.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.

  • Bilingual is a plus (Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Complete full annual LIHTC recertifications for properties within their portfolio.
  • Complete full annual HOME recertifications for properties with HOME and LIHTC recert waivers within their portfolio.
  • Prepare and send reminder notices to residents at 120, 90, 60, and 30 days.
  • Commence holdover for Failure to Recertify by the 2nd day of the effective month.
  • Ensure each completed annual recertification has TIC and all forms are completed in their entirety before filing.
  • Enter all recertifications into Yardi and date completed once complete.
  • Prepare for tenant file reviews with investors, syndicators, and monitoring agencies.
  • Assist in response to investor, syndicator, and monitoring agency audits.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reporting.
  • Track audits, reporting, and recertifications, etc.
  • Meet with residents as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned/needed.
