About The Position

Solotech is seeking a Lighting Technician to prepare equipment for rental, return it to inventory, and store it properly. This role is crucial for ensuring that equipment is ready for client use and maintained to high standards. Requirements

• Technical Theater Degree or other relevant domain, or the equivalent in field experience.
• Less than one year of experience in an audiovisual equipment workshop or live events industry.
• Good knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to solve complicated problems.
• Thoroughness and attention to detail.
• Well-developed organizational skills.
• Demonstrate ability to work well with clients (internal and external).
• Adapt to change easily.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Experience in Forklift operation.

Nice To Haves

• Strong knowledge of Live Events and/or rental industry in the entertainment and corporate environment.
• Knowledge of the R2 inventory software.
• Flexibility of working schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare orders of average complexity, scan them, and put them inside the appropriate transport case.
• Work with fellow shop technicians to prepare large orders.
• Customize equipment if required by the client, according to the purchase order, including modifying configuration settings and programming equipment.
• Prepare racks and systems’ interconnection.
• Install computer software/programs and updates.
• Ensure all required accessories to operate equipment are included (e.g., wiring, adapter, PSU, gelatin, bracket, remote control, etc.).
• Clean and conduct a visual inspection of the equipment.
• Perform operation tests on all equipment.
• Upgrade the items (ex.: paint, cleaning, etc.).
• Report breakage and missing components to the Shop Technician 3.
• Perform inventories of requested items.
• Follow the quality and preparation standards of the company and/or industry.
• Ensure their section is organized, clean, and all tools are properly stored and maintained.
• Perform all other related tasks assigned.
