Job Summary: We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Lighting Designer to join our team and lead the development of innovative lighting solutions across diverse projects. The ideal candidate will combine artistic vision with technical expertise to deliver compelling lighting designs that enhance architectural and environmental aesthetics.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Lighting Design concentration or Master’s degree in Theatrical Lighting
  • One years’ experience with lighting design
  • Proficiency in using design tools, including InDesign, AGi, AutoCAD, and Revit
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on various projects and tasks, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative to drive projects forward.

Responsibilities

  • Develop lighting concepts and designs in alignment with project objectives, budgets, and timelines.
  • Create detailed lighting plans, layouts, and technical drawings using software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Perform lighting calculations and photometric analysis using AGi and/or Dialux technical computer software
  • Select appropriate lighting fixtures, controls, and technologies for efficiency, performance, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with architects, interior designers, engineers, and project managers to integrate lighting seamlessly into designs.
  • Conduct site visits, mock-ups, and lighting simulations to validate design intent.
  • Stay current with lighting design trends, codes, and new technologies (LED, smart lighting, sustainable systems).
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders to communicate design concepts.
  • Review installation, adjust for construction conflicts, target changes, direct the aiming of all adjustable fixtures, provide punch lists, set controls if required, verify design, and educate the client on the lighting system.
