About The Position

Penguin Random House is the premier provider of distribution services in the publishing industry. Our fulfillment center, located in Reno, NV is seeking qualified workers and available to work. It is only with a dedicated staff we are able to meet and exceed our customers expectations by picking, packing and shipping approximately 1.2 million books daily to customers around the world. We have immediate openings for Light Picker/Packers on 2nd shift. $18.00/hr. and full benefits effective your first day of employment. Monday - Friday 10:30am - 6:30pm

Requirements

Requires basic reading and math skills
Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and occasionally up to 35 lbs.
Must be able to stand for an entire shift (minimal breaks provided)
Must be able to climb stairs and be comfortable working on an upper mezzanine level
Minimum age requirement is 16
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain good overall safety and attendance record
Work well in a team-orientated environment

Responsibilities

Pick and pack customer book orders using a variety of methods including voice automation
Process customer book returns in a variety of ways
Using a computer and/or hand-held radio frequency (RF) equipment
Must follow all safety rules and work well in a team-orientated environment
Must possess the flexibility to work in other areas based on business needs
Must adhere to all established safety and precaution measures.
Must be flexible and cross-trained in other areas to assist with work in other departments based on business needs
