About The Position
Penguin Random House is seeking qualified Light Picker/Packers for their fulfillment center in Reno, NV. This role involves picking, packing, and shipping approximately 1.2 million books daily to customers worldwide. Immediate openings are available for the 2nd shift.
Requirements
- Requires basic reading and math skills
- Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and occasionally up to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for an entire shift (minimal breaks provided)
- Must be able to climb stairs and be comfortable working on an upper mezzanine level
- Minimum age requirement is 16
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain good overall safety and attendance record
- Work well in a team-orientated environment
Responsibilities
- Pick and pack customer book orders using a variety of methods including voice automation
- Process customer book returns in a variety of ways
- Using a computer and/or hand-held radio frequency (RF) equipment
- Must follow all safety rules and work well in a team-orientated environment
- Must possess the flexibility to work in other areas based on business needs
- Must adhere to all established safety and precaution measures.
- Must be flexible and cross-trained in other areas to assist with work in other departments based on business needs
