About The Position

Penguin Random House is hiring Light Picker/Packers at its national fulfillment center in Crawfordsville, Indiana. The facility picks, packs, and ships approximately 1.2 million books daily to customers around the world. The position is on second shift, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., at $18.00 per hour. Benefits are effective on the first day of employment for eligible employees. The role involves picking and packing customer book orders using a variety of methods, processing book returns, and using a computer and/or handheld radio-frequency equipment. Employees must follow safety requirements, maintain reliable attendance, and be flexible to work in other areas or departments based on business needs. Background and drug screening are part of the employment process.

Requirements

Basic reading and math skills.
Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, reach, and regularly lift up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.
Ability to stand for an entire shift; minimal breaks are provided.
Ability to climb stairs and work comfortably on an upper mezzanine level.
Ability to follow safety rules and work well in a team-oriented environment.
Flexibility to work in other areas based on business needs.
Minimum age of 16.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain a good overall safety and attendance record.
Must adhere to established safety and precaution measures.
Background and drug screening are part of the employment process.
