About The Position

Tessera is seeking a reliable Light Truck Driver to support Warehouse operations at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. The role involves driving light and/or medium trucks for the pickup and delivery of materials between various warehouse and shop store locations. The driver will also be responsible for loading and unloading materials using material handling equipment and government-furnished trucks, maintaining inventory control using a bar code system, and ensuring compliance with Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) standard procedures. Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma/GED is required.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months of warehouse inventory or delivery experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow industrial safety guidelines, apply safety training and promote safe workplace culture at all times.
  • Responsible for driving light and/or medium trucks for pickup and delivery of materials.
  • Responsible for pick-up of material from various warehouses/shop store's locations and deliver to designated locations as indicated by Supervisor. (Eight deliveries per hour on average)
  • Responsible for loading and unloading loose materials with material handling equipment (MHE) and government furnished trucks.
  • Maintain 100% accountability of all material handled, as assigned, and on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for maintaining a trip logbook of all deliveries and report daily delivery totals to Supervisor.
  • Responsible for inventory control of all materials using a bar code system-Direct Material Inventory (DMI).
  • Must be compliant with Fleet and Industrial Supply Center (FISC) standard procedures.
  • Report all accidents/injuries immediately to Supervisor and/or Work Lead.
  • Must wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
