About The Position

Under the immediate supervision of the Parks Superintendent or designee, this position is responsible for general labor within the corresponding department. The role involves routine decision-making with minimal public contact and no supervisory responsibilities. The primary focus is on maintaining city facilities and grounds.

Requirements

• Minimum of six (6) months related experience to perform effectively.
• Ability to perform strenuous manual labor tasks.
• Ability to follow oral instructions.
• Ability to work under extreme weather conditions.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License.
• Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent; will be afforded an opportunity to acquire within nine (9) months if the applicant does not possess one at the time of employment.

• Little supervision required in varied or irregular work situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lawns at all public buildings on a daily basis.
• Pick up trash at city facilities.
• Trim trees at all city facilities as needed.
• Ensure city vehicles are properly maintained and serviced.
• Report damages and graffiti to city facilities.
• Perform physical and manual labor on a daily and continuous basis.
• Work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned for different events (e.g., parades, celebration ceremonies).
• Perform other related duties as required.
