About The Position

Responsible for machine operation and crew in a light industrial setting. Must manage machine team to ensure proper and safe operation of assigned equipment. Responsible for quality, output, and meeting production goals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 Years related experience
  • Basic computer experience
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrates ability to line lead or crew lead for one (1) machine
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (varying upon equipment)
  • Attention to detail
  • Effective communicator (share equipment knowledge, quality, and safety concerns)
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine problems
  • Mathematical skills and advanced skills in production reports
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability and knowledge to operate a pallet jack
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of machine and manufacturing operations
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language (preferred)
  • Ability to work overtime, beyond regular schedule, to complete work assignments as required
  • Carry up to 15 lbs.
  • Push and pull up to 40 lbs.
  • Twist, stand, walk, reach, and grip/grasp throughout the shift
  • Frequently lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Squat and kneel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Wear hearing protection when required

Responsibilities

  • Monitors performance of machine and personnel, ensuring goals are met and issues are communicated to Supervisor and/or Lead.
  • Completes all work assignments during production, including checking in material, pocket set-ups, and moving unneeded material offline.
  • Applies advanced troubleshooting skills and performs basic maintenance on assigned machines to improve quality and performance.
  • Assists crew members when needed.
  • Organizes crew activities and delegates assignments.
  • Performs assigned duties.
  • Trains and develops all crew members.
  • Monitors product quality for correctness and reports errors.
  • Monitors print and bundle quality, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Monitors product waste and takes steps to reduce or eliminate spoilage and doubles.
  • Maintains accurate record keeping (e.g., safety audits, packages per hour, labor hours per thousand) and other logs or forms.
  • Communicates personnel issues to the Supervisor or Lead.
  • Informs other Operators/Supervisors of pertinent information and communicates to other shifts as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Leads, coaches, and maintains open communication with other production team members.
  • Participates in Team Business Meetings.
  • Prioritizes work to meet production commitments and goals.
  • Makes machine staffing assignments.
  • Determines machine processing speed.
  • Works overtime, beyond regular schedule, to complete work assignments as required.
