About The Position

Responsible for machine operation and crew in a light industrial setting. Must manage machine team to ensure proper and safe operation of assigned equipment. Responsible for quality, output, and meeting production goals.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
3-5 Years related experience
Basic computer experience
Ability to multi-task
Demonstrates ability to line lead or crew lead for one (1) machine
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (varying upon equipment)
Attention to detail
Effective communicator (share equipment knowledge, quality, and safety concerns)
Ability to troubleshoot machine problems
Mathematical skills and advanced skills in production reports
Basic computer skills
Ability and knowledge to operate a pallet jack
Strong knowledge and understanding of machine and manufacturing operations
Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language (preferred)
Ability to work overtime, beyond regular schedule, to complete work assignments as required
Carry up to 15 lbs.
Push and pull up to 40 lbs.
Twist, stand, walk, reach, and grip/grasp throughout the shift
Frequently lift up to 15 lbs.
Squat and kneel
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Wear hearing protection when required

Responsibilities

Monitors performance of machine and personnel, ensuring goals are met and issues are communicated to Supervisor and/or Lead.
Completes all work assignments during production, including checking in material, pocket set-ups, and moving unneeded material offline.
Applies advanced troubleshooting skills and performs basic maintenance on assigned machines to improve quality and performance.
Assists crew members when needed.
Organizes crew activities and delegates assignments.
Performs assigned duties.
Trains and develops all crew members.
Monitors product quality for correctness and reports errors.
Monitors print and bundle quality, making adjustments as necessary.
Monitors product waste and takes steps to reduce or eliminate spoilage and doubles.
Maintains accurate record keeping (e.g., safety audits, packages per hour, labor hours per thousand) and other logs or forms.
Communicates personnel issues to the Supervisor or Lead.
Informs other Operators/Supervisors of pertinent information and communicates to other shifts as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Leads, coaches, and maintains open communication with other production team members.
Participates in Team Business Meetings.
Prioritizes work to meet production commitments and goals.
Makes machine staffing assignments.
Determines machine processing speed.
Works overtime, beyond regular schedule, to complete work assignments as required.
