Light Duty Technician
About The Position
Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leading fleet maintenance company, is seeking a skilled Light Duty Auto or Med/Heavy Diesel Technician/Mechanic. This role is responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of light, medium, and heavy-duty fleet vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation. The position requires a high level of proficiency and working knowledge of engine diagnosis and repair, fleet maintenance operations, electrical systems, preventative maintenance, and DOT inspections. Candidates with strong experience in Light Duty/Automotive work are also encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Must possess adequate hand tools required to perform routine repairs and maintenance.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Pass drug test and background check.
Nice To Haves
- CDL is Preferred
- Technical education in a related discipline with experience, or on the job experience that includes performing service and repair on vehicles and/or equipment components and systems summarized above is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) on all types of powered equipment.
- Diagnose and perform selected repairs on equipment, including power units, drive trains, suspension, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Occasionally perform fueling duties as a backup for mobile fuelers.
- Test drive all types of vehicles.
- Train and assist other mechanics in all areas.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work area and environment, including cleaning shop equipment, floors, and fluid containment areas.
