About The Position

This role involves preparing parts and performing duties to pre-assemble a limited number of parts and components for a variety of products at various workstations throughout the light bar area. The assembler will be responsible for building prep parts and assembling parts using a variety of hand tools and related fixtures. Additionally, the role requires filling out proper paperwork and making computer system transactions. Key responsibilities include pre-prepping assemblies for light-bar builders, building and testing assemblies, and pulling parts for service orders. The assembler will also make electrical connections, using solder, rivet, stake, or press to secure parts according to standard work instructions. They will work from schedules, shop orders, product/process spec sheets, and standard work instructions, reading blueprints and test instructions from written or computer sources. The position involves reviewing production schedules, arranging parts for builders, and storing/retrieving materials. Accumulating and moving items between storage areas and work cells using hand trucks or pallet jacks is also part of the job. Proficiency in using various computer screens for inventory management, production order processing, and cycle counts is essential. The role also includes filling out non-conforming tickets and processing material dispositions, including inventory adjustments in the computer system. Performing preventative maintenance on equipment and training new and existing employees are also required duties. Safety and maintaining a clean work area are paramount.

Requirements

Ability to prep parts and perform duties to pre-assemble a limited number of parts and components
Knowledge of reading prints
Knowledge of reading schedules
Ability to build prep parts and assemble parts using variety of hand tools and other related fixtures
Ability to fill out proper paperwork and make computer system transactions
Ability to use and understand various computer screens to check a part's bin location, flow manufacturing, complete cycle counts, status of material, production orders, release production orders, change due dates, fill out part requisitions, finished good tickets, monitor inventory levels of finished good items
Ability to fill out non-conforming ticket and process non-conforming material disposition
High School diploma
Experience with light mechanical and/or electrical assembly
Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, pallet jacks, hand trucks, fixed gauges, jigs, meters, soldering irons, riveters, presses and crimping tools
Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and sound judgement

Responsibilities

Pre-prep assemblies for light-bar builders
Build and test assemblies
Pull parts for service orders
Assemble a limited number of parts or components such as brackets, receptacles, reflectors, seals, simple drive mechanisms and similar units
Make electrical connections, with solder, rivet, stake or press to secure parts
Work from schedules, shop orders, product/process spec sheets, standard work instructions, record production data, read blueprints and test instructions
Review production schedules for specific periods of time and arrange parts for builders
Store and retrieve materials, parts, and supplies in different storage locations
Accumulate and move items between storage areas and work cell using hand trucks or pallet jacks
Use and understand various computer screens to check a part's bin location, flow manufacturing, complete cycle counts, status of material, production orders, release production orders, change due dates, fill out part requisitions, finished good tickets, monitor inventory levels of finished good items
Fill out non-conforming ticket and process non-conforming material disposition (including deleting components out of inventory in computer system)
Use hand and power tools, pallet jacks, hand trucks, fixed gauges, jigs, meters, soldering irons, microcomputer, fax machines, riveters, and presses
Perform preventative maintenance (cleaning, oiling, inspecting, and minor adjustments) on equipment in the work cell
Train new and existing employees how to effectively work within the department, instruct them in all facets of the work cell operation
Follow safety rules and keep work cell area in a clean and orderly condition
Perform all related duties as required
