About The Position

The Lift Truck Operator (Inventory) is responsible for the safe and accurate movement, storage, and tracking of raw materials and finished goods in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role supports inventory accuracy through material handling, cycle counting, SAP transactions, and inventory control activities while maintaining compliance with all safety standards, operating procedures, and company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of sit-down forklift experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of stand-up reach truck experience.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience with inventory control processes, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Experience using SAP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), RF scanners, or similar inventory management systems.
  • Ability to accurately complete inventory and material movement transactions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supporting inventory control functions.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of warehouse best practices, inventory management principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience serving in a lead or backup inventory control role.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, and other powered industrial equipment.
  • Move, transfer, stage, store, and retrieve raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility.
  • Perform all material movements with a high degree of accuracy, accountability, and adherence to established procedures.
  • Ensure all assignments and material transactions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Support shipping, receiving, production supply, and warehouse operations as required.
  • Maintain organized storage locations and proper inventory rotation practices (FIFO where applicable).
  • Support inventory accuracy through daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual inventory activities as assigned.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory counts.
  • Execute SAP inventory and load management transactions, including: Cycle Counts, Pick Lists, Post Goods Issue (PGI), Inventory transfers and adjustments.
  • Investigate and assist in resolving inventory discrepancies and location variances.
  • Verify material quantities, locations, lot numbers, and product information.
  • Serve as a backup for Inventory Control Lead responsibilities when required.
  • Perform daily forklift inspections and report equipment concerns promptly.
  • Follow all Critical Safety Rules, Standards of Conduct, plant procedures, and company policies.
  • Comply with all OSHA requirements, plant safety standards, truck and railcar safety rules, and attendance expectations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform all duties with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
  • Provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and assist others with daily assignments as needed.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships across departments.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
