Lift Team Technician - Full Time Evenings
About The Position
The Lift Team Technician is responsible for any requests for patient lifts throughout the hospital, including all clinics on campus, in patient rooms, and wherever there is a need. The primary responsibility is to provide safe lifting and transfers of patients requiring more than one person to perform the task. This role requires strength in times of stress and disorder to meet patient needs, and the ability to independently problem-solve to effectively move a patient without injuring the patient or staff. The technician will attend campus assessment team calls, advise and collaborate with nursing staff for moving patients, and respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations such as patient falls, providing assistance to move the patient to safety. Additionally, the role involves building rapport with patients, assisting with aggressive behavior, and demonstrating strong communication skills due to working throughout the hospital campus. The technician may also deliver large equipment to specified units and perform Patient Care Technician (PCT) duties in the Emergency Department (ED) and other nursing units, which includes preparing patient treatment areas, preparing and cleaning medical equipment, and disposing of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy. Maintaining good body mechanics and lifting technique for lifts and transfers is essential.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications, including Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).

- One year of healthcare industry experience preferred.
