About The Position

The Highlands At Harbor Springs is seeking a Lift Operations Lead to be an essential member of the mountain operations team. This role involves assisting in organizing daily lift operation teams, with a strong focus on guest service, safety, and training. Lift Leads will manage their assigned lift zones in a fast-paced environment, requiring effective communication, a professional demeanor, and a drive for team success.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Able to work outside on your feet in winter conditions.
Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
Must be a proficient skier or snowboarder.

Responsibilities

Overseeing the assigned lift zone for the day, including lift logs and ramp quality.
Assisting lift operators in the daily start-up of ski lifts, including loading/unloading areas and safety checks.
Assisting in training new team members.
Coordinating adequate staffing for each lift before opening and ensuring proper shutdown procedures and staff safety at the end of the day.
Assisting with snow removal and general surface/ramp maintenance around lift stations.
Promoting a safe work environment through proper use and storage of equipment and tools.
Having a general knowledge of the work stations at each of the lifts.
Providing breaks and lunches to Lift Operators, and filling in during staff shortages.
Promoting an enjoyable environment for team members and guests, and fostering positive interactions.
Relaying information between management and team members.
Assisting with daily and continued training.
Ability to adapt to changing work environments.
