About The Position

The Lift Maintenance Technician 2 is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on ski lift equipment. While previous ski lift maintenance experience is not required, a solid electrical background, preferably in low-voltage controls, PLCs, AC/DC motors and drives, and/or related industrial control systems is essential. This role involves applying electrical expertise to ski lift maintenance while developing specific mechanical and operational knowledge of the lifts.

Requirements

  • Previous electrical experience required
  • Experience with low-voltage control systems, AC/DC motors and drives, and/or related industrial control systems
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR check
  • Must be 18 years old to operate company vehicles
  • Experience using a digital multimeters and other basic electrical troubleshooting tools
  • Familiarity with lockout/tagout procedures and safe electrical work practices
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
  • Be able to fluently speak and write the English language.
  • Eyesight must be 20/20 or corrected to near 20/20 using corrective lenses.
  • Hearing must be adequate without hearing aid. Hearing aid may be used to enhance hearing ability if hearing loss is at or above minimum requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with industrial equipment, conveyors, manufacturing equipment, automation systems, building controls, or other electromechanical systems preferred.
  • Previous lift maintenance experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Help perform routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance on fixed grip chairlifts, detachable chairlifts, surface lifts, and conveyors, under the guidance of senior technicians and supervisors.
  • Apply electrical experience to support troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of lift-related electrical systems, including low-voltage controls, PLC-based systems, electric motors, motor starters, sensors, safety circuits, and drive-related components.
  • Support diagnosis and repair of lift control system issues, including fault tracing, control circuit testing, component replacement, and verification of proper system operation.
  • Contribute to preventive maintenance programs to support regulatory compliance, equipment reliability and long-term maintainability.
  • Assist with mechanical maintenance tasks, lift inspections, equipment adjustments, and component replacement as training and experience progress.
  • Assist with specialized repairs, equipment upgrades, drive and control circuit testing, component replacement and verification of proper system operations.
  • Accurately record maintenance activities, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and component replacements following company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow proper maintenance procedures, electrical safety practices, lockout/tagout requirements, safety protocols and emergency response protocols, with training and hands-on practice provided.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to support the smooth operation, reduced downtime and respond efficiently and effectively to mechanical or electrical issues affecting tramway systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
