About The Position

The Lift Maintenance Manager is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of all Gatlinburg SkyPark chairlifts, carpets, other cable rope transportation systems, and zip lines. This role also involves maintaining all aspects of zip line infrastructure, maximizing safety within the department, and ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment. The manager must maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and training, and be capable of performing tasks such as climbing, welding, or changing running gear at heights. A strong understanding of electrical schematics is required. The position also assists in other tasks as determined by management, including lift construction, refinishing, lift operations, and other resort needs. This role has supervisory responsibilities, overseeing a team of three to four members.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Lift maintenance experience required.
  • Must possess mechanical abilities and a working knowledge of low voltage systems.
  • Candidates should be experienced in detachable and fixed grip lifts along with surface lifts.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Displays willingness to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair and insure safe operation of all Gatlinburg SkyPark chairlifts, carpets and other cable rope transportation systems; zip line, etc.
  • Maintain all aspects of zip line infrastructure including installation and repair.
  • Maximize safety within all aspects of the department.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
  • Maintain certifications, licenses, and training as necessary.
  • Be capable of climbing, welding, or changing running gear 20-30 feet above ground.
  • Understand electrical schematics.
  • Assist in other tasks as determined by the Maintenance Manager including but not limited to; lift construction, refinishing, lift operations, and other resort needs.
  • Oversee a team of three to four team members.
