Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a creative, energetic, and compassionate Lifestyle Leader to join our team at Hillcrest Silver Ridge in Bellevue, NE. Hillcrest Silver Ridge is a welcoming senior living community where residents receive personalized support while maintaining as much independence, choice, and connection as possible. Requirements

  • Upbeat, dependable, and enjoys creating meaningful moments for older adults.
  • Creative, organized, and comfortable engaging residents with different interests, abilities, and support needs.
  • Enjoys planning activities, building relationships, and helping residents feel connected and included.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, reaching, and movement as needed.
  • Must be flexible, calm, and professional in stressful situations.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to utilize technology, supplies, and resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of experience in recreational programming with the aging population or a similar setting preferred.
  • A heart for working with older adults and supporting quality of life.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for planning activities, events, and daily engagement opportunities.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with residents, families, volunteers, and team members.
  • Ability to encourage participation while respecting each resident’s preferences and needs.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to support calendars, supplies, events, and programming needs.
  • A calm, flexible, and professional approach in changing or stressful situations.
  • Comfort using technology and resources efficiently and effectively.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Recreation therapy certification preferred.
  • Music background or ability to play instruments preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Previous senior living, assisted living, memory care, recreational programming, or activity experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, plan, and coordinate recreation programs that meet the interests, needs, and abilities of residents.
  • Conduct activities that support resident interests, abilities, social connection, and overall well-being.
  • Assist in developing the monthly activity calendar and provide input for the monthly newsletter.
  • Encourage residents to participate in daily scheduled activities.
  • Complete one-on-one visits with residents as needed.
  • Assess resident interests and help create meaningful programming based on resident preferences.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and facilitating large community events.
  • Help decorate the community for holidays, celebrations, and special events.
  • Support volunteer engagement, including assisting with teaching and retaining qualified volunteers.
  • Maintain recreation supplies and help keep activity areas organized.
  • Participate in dementia-specific orientation and ongoing dementia education.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with residents, families, volunteers, visitors, and team members.
