About the Facility Carmel Aged Care is a 120‑bed, purpose‑built facility in the Perth Hills suburb of Carmel, set among natural bushland about 30 minutes from the Perth CBD. The home features modern wings with private ensuites, landscaped gardens and contemporary common areas that create a calm, welcoming atmosphere. We are looking for a Lifestyle Assistant to join our aged care team at Carmel Aged Care, in a (casual) capacity. We are looking for someone who is available for day shifts and during the weekdays. About the Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Lifestyle Assistant to join our team and help create engaging, meaningful experiences for our residents. In this rewarding role, you will support the emotional, social, and physical wellbeing of residents through activities that bring joy, connection, and purpose. This is a hands-on, people-focused role ideal for someone who is energetic, creative, and passionate about improving quality of life for older people.

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Leisure & Health or similar
  • A genuine passion for working with older people
  • Creative thinking and ability to engage residents in meaningful ways
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive, energetic, and compassionate approach
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A National Police Clearance or NDIS Screening Check, or willingness to obtain this

  • Experience in lifestyle, activities, aged care, or community services

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver engaging lifestyle and recreational activities
  • Encourage resident participation in group and one-on-one activities
  • Support social, cultural, and community engagement opportunities
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents and understand their interests and preferences
  • Assist in organising events, outings, and special celebrations
  • Work collaboratively with care staff to support residents’ overall wellbeing
  • Maintain accurate activity records and documentation
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all residents
