About The Position

This is a part-time weekend position for a LifeLine Paramedic in Bloomington, IN. The role involves the care, transport, and treatment of ill/injured patients in both emergency and non-emergency situations. The Paramedic is responsible for relaying and receiving patient information, complying with all regulatory requirements, departmental policies, safety policies, and hospital policies. The position requires operating within the scope of a Paramedic as defined by the state of Indiana and possessing the knowledge and skills to care for patients of all age groups (neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult, and elderly). Duties may include driving the ambulance, transporting patients, obtaining consents, recording run times, and processing billing and daily reports. Employment may be contingent upon a valid driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record report.

Requirements

Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required.
ACLS;BLS;PALS;EMT-P Indiana Paramedic license required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required upon hire.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or its equivalency(s) to be obtained within initial probationary period.
Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) or its equivalency must be obtained within initial probationary period.
NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 to be obtained with initial probationary period.
Ability to make independent, clinical and operational competent decisions in a challenging environment.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of 1 year ALS Paramedic experience preferred.
A valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record report may be required for this role.

Responsibilities

Operating within the scope of a Paramedic as defined by the state of Indiana.
Appropriately caring for and managing neonatal, infant, pediatric, adult, and elderly patients.
Driving ambulance to and from referral hospital (may be required).
Transporting patients (may be required).
Obtaining consents and authorizations from patient or legal guardians (may be required).
Recording time of ambulance run (may be required).
Processing billing and daily reports (may be required).
