Events Dates & Time Tuesdays 04/07, 04/14, 04/21, 04/28 From 4:00PM-6:00PM Saturdays 04/11, 04/18, 04/25 From 10:00AM-12:00PM Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure and ensure safety of members and guests in the event of emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned including helping at front desk, walking through Teen Room, and various assigned activities on holidays. Working knowledge of Club policies and guidelines as outlined in the Ridglea Country Club Employee Handbook and Orientation Guide. Work Ethic – Establishes and maintains professional standard of conduct and appearance at all times. Exhibits professional attitude towards superiors, colleagues and members. Hygiene – Exhibits and employs proper personal hygiene and dresses professionally. Ridglea Lifeguard shirts must be worn when at work with red swimsuits or shorts. MUST HAVE COMPLETED PHYSICAL TRAINING IN ADDITION TO LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION Ability to rescue members from water and strong swimming skills are a must. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, swim, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift or assist children and adults, and/or sit up. Reach with hands and arms. Hearing, seeing and talking sufficient enough to communicate with participants, members, guests, and co-workers and ensure member safety. Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs. Independent mobility in pool and pool area. Position Details: Variable hours – must be able to work weekends and holidays The Club’s Management reserves the right to conduct random testing for the use of illegal drug and alcohol. Employees testing positive and determined to be in violation of Club’s policies will result in immediate termination. Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications include aptitude and ability for the job
  • Must have current certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training
  • Must have experience in aquatic instruction environment or other swim lesson program
  • Must be CPR/AED/First Aid certified
  • The Guard that is relieving must watch water while the other guard comes off the guard tower. The off duty guard then watches the water while the other guard takes the guard tower.
  • Absolutely no talking to anyone during guard duty with the exception of an emergency situation.
  • Always have the rescue tube with you.
  • Always be alert and on Guard Duty (all the time) even during break.
  • Must take your breaks at designated area only (pool office) and eating in break room only.
  • Must not be afraid to use voice or whistle when a pool rule is being broken.
  • Raise your arm if you need assistance from another guard.
  • No outside food or drink can be eaten in front of members.
  • No cell phones can be used while working.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned including helping at front desk, walking through Teen Room, and various assigned activities on holidays.

  • Lifeguards must clean up any trash around the pool area, picking up unused swimming equipment, keeping the pool deck clean and safe from possible accidents.
  • Make sure that all pool rules are being followed at all times. Please make sure you are familiar with all Ridglea Pool Rules and Code of Conduct.
  • Must attend one hour Lifeguard training each week.
  • Must have ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Must have skill in the application of lifeguard surveillance and rescue techniques.
  • Must have ability to pass swim skill evaluation as stipulated by the Aquatics Director.
  • Must have ability to prepare Incident Report when any problems and/or accidents occur.
  • Must have ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate in and have a basic comprehension of the English language.
  • Must have pool/swim knowledge and background.
  • Must have interpersonal skills.
  • Must have motivational and training skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and/or over time if needed.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must work well with others as a team and help co-workers as needed.
  • Must possess good character including honesty and integrity.
  • Must be courteous and tactful at all times towards members, superiors, and co-workers.
  • Must be innovative and look for areas that need improvement.
  • Must treat others with kindness and respect at all times.
