About The Position

The City of Bloomfield is looking for responsible, attentive, and safety‑focused Lifeguards to join our team at the Bloomfield Aquatic Center. In this role, you will help ensure a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for all patrons.

Requirements

• Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Must be at least 15 years of age.
• Understanding of pool rules, water safety practices, and emergency procedures.
• Strong swimming skills.
• Ability to remain alert, focused, and calm in emergency situations.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work professionally with patrons and staff.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships.

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) months of experience in aquatics, water safety, or related work preferred (not required).

Responsibilities

• Monitor pool activities to ensure safety and prevent accidents or injuries.
• Enforce all pool rules and facility regulations in a professional manner.
• Perform water rescues and administer first aid/CPR as needed.
• Maintain constant alertness and awareness of all patrons.
• Assist with daily facility upkeep, including cleaning pool decks, equipment, restrooms, and locker rooms.
• Document incidents, accidents, and safety concerns; report unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
