About The Position

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
  • CPR, First Aid and AED certification
  • Lifeguarding certification
  • Ability to obtain within three months of employment: Administering Emergency Oxygen and suctioning certifications
  • Blood Borne Pathogen certification
  • Background checks include: National and County Criminal Scan
  • Sex-Offender Registry check
  • Motor Vehicle Report through DMV

Nice To Haves

  • One year of related experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of regular and routine poolside and water safety duties to ensure the safe use of pool facilities.
  • Maintains constant alertness and awareness of patron activities, both poolside and in locker rooms, to minimize exposure or threat of incident or accident.
  • Ensures the safety of guests and program participants by enforcing all rules and policies with staff and guests.
  • Responds to emergency situations, performs water rescues, administer first aid, CPR and other medical attention as needed.
  • Performs scheduled service and maintenance of facility; cleans decks, walls, windows, pool equipment, locker rooms, and other assigned areas.
  • Inspects program equipment and facilities, including conducting water checks.
  • Reports any issues or concerns with facility conditions, policies, incidents, water quality or other unsafe conditions to supervisory staff as needed.
  • Completes a variety of paperwork including daily records, logs and incident reports.
  • Attends Skill Checks and in-service training.
  • Maintains frequent communications with other staff and volunteers within the Community Center and Division.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
