About The Position
La Cumbre Country Club is a premier private club nestled in the foothills of Santa Barbara. With a championship golf course, fine dining, and a full range of recreational amenities, we've been the backdrop to our members' most important moments for decades. Our team is the reason the experience feels effortless, and we take pride in the people we bring on board. We're looking for a certified Lifeguard to help us deliver a safe, welcoming pool experience for members and their families. This isn't a sit-and-watch post, you'll be active, engaged, and a visible part of what makes a great day at the club. Requirements
- Valid lifeguard certification with current CPR/AED and First Aid credentials
- At least 6 months of lifeguarding experience; 2+ years preferred
- You pass a practical in-water skills assessment as part of the hiring process
- Cool under pressure, when things go sideways, you move with purpose, not panic
- Genuinely friendly and service-oriented, with strong communication skills
- Available on weekends and evenings; schedule may vary with club events
Responsibilities
- Keep a trained eye on the water at all times, you notice what others miss
- Create a welcoming atmosphere by greeting members and guests by name and making them feel at home
- Enforce pool rules with confidence and professionalism, so everyone has a safe, enjoyable experience
- Be the first to respond in an emergency, execute rescues, provide first aid and CPR, and stay composed until EMS arrives
- Keep the pool deck clean, organized, and visually sharp throughout your shift
- Handle administrative tasks like incident documentation accurately
