About The Position

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is looking for year-round Lifeguards at the YMCA. This role is responsible for advocating for the safety and wellbeing of members and guests, ensuring the pool area is a friendly and welcoming environment, and maintaining the safety of participants in or near the pool or hot tub. The position also involves general maintenance and cleanliness of the pool, water testing, and problem-solving. The lifeguard will relate positively to various individuals and perform other duties as assigned. This job description is representative of essential functions and typical criteria but may not be exhaustive.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age. If you are 15 please apply as a Junior Lifeguard.
  • Current ARC/YMCA Lifeguard, First Aid, AED, Emergency Oxygen and CPR-PR Certifications.
  • Professional, alert, courteous, and tactful.
  • Blood Borne Pathogens within 30 days of being hired.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual staff who test as fluent in Spanish and English receive a +10% differential.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for the safety and wellbeing of our members and guests, and keep our Y's pool a friendly, welcoming environment for all to play, learn and build confidence in the water.
  • Ensure the safety of participants while they are in or near the pool or hot tub.
  • General maintenance and cleanliness of the pool, water testing and general problem-solving.
  • Relate positively to a variety of people including other staff, members, program participants, and children.
  • Other duties as assigned.
