About The Position
Lifeguard for Outdoor Community Pool. Certification is Required. The Y offers Free Lifeguard Certification Classes. Ability to Swim and Pass the Prerequisite Test. This is a Busy Pool and requires a commitment to Safety. The Pool operates 7 days per week, so the work schedule includes Saturday and Sunday. The Main Operations of the Pool is 12:45 pm - 5:15 pm. Some weekday Morning Hours 9:00 am - 12:00 noon may be required. Old Colony YMCA Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining a safe environment that promotes ideal guest service in a Family Friendly environment by using the Test, Mark, Protect Protocols.
Requirements
- Certification is Required.
- Ability to Swim and Pass the Prerequisite Test.
- 2 minute water tread without use of hands.
- 10 lb brick recovery from the deep end.
- 100 yards or 200 yards swim.
- Practical and Written Test.
