About The Position
The Sonoma County Family YMCA is hiring Certified Lifeguards to help create a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for swimmers of all ages. This position offers flexible scheduling with opportunities for morning, afternoon, evening, weekday, and weekend shifts. Requirements
- Must be at least 15 years old by date of hire
- Required Certifications: American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard Certificate, American Red Cross First Aid for the Public Safety Personnel (Title 22), and American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certificate.
- Ability to meet all YMCA and Red Cross lifeguarding standards
- Ability to maintain certification-level physical readiness
- DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance required

Responsibilities
- Maintain active surveillance of the pool and surrounding areas
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies
- Enforce safety rules and YMCA policies
- Build positive relationships with members and guests
- Perform pool safety checks and facility inspections
- Assist with maintaining a clean and safe aquatic environment
- Work collaboratively with the aquatics team
