About The Position
The Fitness and Recreation Center (FRC) is looking for energetic, safety-minded individuals to join our team as Per Diem Lifeguards. This role is ideal for those looking to help the community stay active or seeking a job with a clear view of the pool. The rate of pay is $20/hr.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold current Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid certifications.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working as a lifeguard is preferred.
- Knowledge of general campus recreation user guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Continuously scan the aquatic facility, refraining from socializing while on duty to ensure patron safety.
- Communicate and enforce all policies and rules in a personable and professional manner.
- Provide necessary care in any emergency and respond immediately to unsafe conditions on the pool deck.
- Conduct pool inspections, complete chemical tests, and record all findings.
- Perform necessary facility opening and closing procedures for scheduled shifts.
- Complete assigned cleaning tasks to maintain high facility standards.
- Document any incidents or injuries and report directly to the Assistant Director/Educator of Health & Safety & Aquatics Program.
- Assist patrons with issues or questions while providing positive and professional service.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings and in-service training as available for this per-diem position.
- Maintain a professional appearance by always wearing the required aquatic facility attire while on duty.
