About The Position

Lifeguard at TradeWinds Island Resorts on St. Pete Beach. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety of Water park Guests, providing exceptional service, and creating memorable experiences. The position is part of the TradeWinds Recreation Team, reporting to the Recreation Manager.

Requirements

• Must possess an active and valid lifeguard certification from a reputable source.
• Must be able to work outside in Florida's extreme/hot climate for eight hours a day or more
• Walk/stand for extended periods of time (8 hours or more)
• Strong swimming skills including ability to respond to conditions in the Gulf and to Swim 500 m within 10 minutes
• Safely lift and move objects weighing 60 lbs.-100 lbs.
• Must have open availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as these are our busiest times

Nice To Haves

• Active and valid open-water lifeguard certification
• Valid CPR certification
• Former pool and/or water park experience preferred (Tradewinds can provide the training class for these certifications)

Responsibilities

• Creating memorable experiences while maintaining the highest standard of safety
• Assisting in the set up, operation and safe use of the Water Park for our Guests
• Ensuring safety standards are followed for our Guests participating in our "Swim with the Fish" Tank Experience.
• Monitoring and responding swiftly to any needs while in operation of the Water Park or "Swim with the Fish" offerings.
• Providing support to our Guests and co-workers to provide the best experience
• Performing maintenance to the equipment as needed and directed
