Requirements

At least 15 years old
Reliable, responsible, and ready to take ownership
Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused
Comfortable interacting with people and providing great customer service
Able to stay calm and act quickly in emergency situations
Current YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (CPR/AED/First Aid included)
Ability to swim 300 yards continuously
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in different weather conditions

Responsibilities

Keep a constant watch over swimmers and ensure everyone stays safe
Enforce pool rules while creating a positive and welcoming environment
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pool deck
Check and record pool chemicals to keep water safe and balanced
Respond quickly and confidently in emergency situations
Help members with questions and create a great overall experience
Work as part of a team and take direction from Head Lifeguards and Aquatics Leaders
Open and close the pool area, making sure everything is ready for the day
Show up on time and ready to go
Help keep the facility clean and safe
Attend team meetings and trainings

Speak up and report any safety concerns or incidents
