The Lifeguard position requires individuals to act decisively and proactively in addressing emergency situations, maintain awareness of safety concerns and risk management procedures, and be responsible for opening and closing the pool facility. This role involves testing chemical levels, assisting with pool cleaning, and aiding patrons with facility, equipment, and program-related needs. Lifeguards are expected to enforce all policies and procedures for effective pool facility operations, provide first response to emergencies, administer first aid when appropriate, and maintain accurate usage counts. Regular attendance at staff meetings is also required, along with performing other duties as assigned by the Graduate Associate for Facility Operations and the Associate Director of Recreational Services for Operations.
