This role is responsible for the overall safety, maintenance, and upkeep of the waterfront, assistance in direct delivery of waterfront program, lifeguarding, and managing boating. The ideal candidate is passionate about swimming, boating and safety, loves to share and teach their knowledge, and wants to help mentor and coach.

Requirements

• 18+
• Standard First Aid & CPR-C
• NL
• An acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check
• Standard First aid and CPR certification
• The applicant must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
• The applicant must be a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or a Refugee under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

Nice To Haves

• Standard First Aid Instructor & Examiner (an asset)
• LSS Instructors (an asset)

Responsibilities

• Follow and enforce all safety guidelines when at the waterfront, for both swimming and boating activities
• Clean boats on a regular basis (kayaks & canoes)
• Lifeguard during boating and swimming times at the waterfront
• May assist staff with the delivery and/or supervision of Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross courses
• Oversee the Wind & Water program staff during activity time
• Additional duties as needed
