Lifecycle Engineering Intern
About The Position
At Loll Designs, we're looking for a Lifecycle Product Engineering Intern who is excited to learn how products are improved, refined, and supported throughout their lifecycle. This internship offers hands-on experience working alongside engineering, manufacturing, product development, and continuous improvement teams. You'll help support existing products, participate in real-world problem solving, and gain exposure to the full product lifecycle—from concept improvements and testing to manufacturing support and customer-driven solutions. Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design, or a related field
- Interest in product development, manufacturing, and continuous improvement
- Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software through coursework, projects, or internships
- Strong curiosity and willingness to learn
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Ability to approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset
Nice To Haves
- Interest in furniture design, manufacturing, sustainability, or product innovation is a plus
Responsibilities
- Support engineering projects focused on improving existing products and manufacturing processes
- Assist with CAD modeling, drawing updates, and engineering documentation
- Participate in product testing, data collection, and analysis activities
- Help evaluate product performance, manufacturability, and quality improvements
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to observe and support prototype development and testing
- Assist with engineering investigations and root cause analysis of product or manufacturing challenges
- Support special product modifications and customer-driven engineering solutions
- Maintain organized project documentation, test records, and engineering files
- Participate in brainstorming, problem-solving, and continuous improvement activities
- Learn how engineering decisions impact manufacturing, product quality, and customer experience
