About The Position

The Lifecycle Cost Analyst supports the mining operations team by performing detailed analysis related to MARC, OPEX, TCO, and lifecycle performance of mining equipment. This role focuses on cost modeling, component-life tracking, general repairs and reliability analytics for undercarriage, Ground Engaging Tools (GET), and other wear-related products. This is a full-time, permanent position with compensation ranging from $69,520 to $86,901, with potential for performance-based or discretionary bonuses. Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-6 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, or related discipline
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in mining, heavy equipment, or technical cost analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel/data analysis capabilities
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills for presenting findings to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Experience working with Caterpillar systems (LMT, ERS, HMS, etc.) or similar mining analytics tools
  • Knowledge of undercarriage, GET, or other components
  • Understanding of MARC or similar maintenance/support agreements
  • Familiarity with TCO modeling concepts

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed analysis of equipment lifecycle costs, including operating expenses (OPEX), MARC consumption trends, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) components.
  • Track, update, and maintain component centerlines and life-cycle data for mining equipment fleets.
  • Monitor wear performance for undercarriage, GET, and wear components, producing reports and forecasts for internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze historical consumption, repair cost, and failure-rate data, identifying cost‑reduction and optimization opportunities.
  • Ensure data accuracy within LMT, ERS, HMS, MTTT, MMG, or other internal systems
  • Prepare recurring cost‑performance dashboards, consumption reports, and lifecycle cost summaries for the mining leadership team.
  • Support MARC contract performance reviews by providing analytical insights and trend analysis.
  • Compile TCO models with guidance from senior team members; support the validation of assumptions and data inputs.
  • Assist in developing standardized processes for data tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate with product support, parts, and service teams to gather field data and validate component life assumptions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to warranty recovery, component performance, and cost optimization
  • Maintain equipment population, component, and cost datasets across relevant software platforms.
  • Support the Mining Business Develop and corporate analytics groups by ensuring clean, timely, structured data.
