About The Position

The Life Skills Coordinator will support the Life Skills Director and provide weekend support to residents of Family Tree’s permanent supportive housing (PSH) program, Marshall St. Landing. Marshall St. Landing is an 85-unit PSH program, located in Arvada, Colorado. Marshall St. Landing provides supportive housing to people experiencing chronic homelessness who are at or below 30% area's median income. This is a 24/7 managed complex with on-site property management. Residents of Marshall St. Landing often have complex needs, including physical health challenges, behavioral health challenges (including substance use and mental health disorders), developmental delays, and have experienced chronic homelessness. The Life Skills coordinator will partner with the Life Skills Director to implement programming for essential life skills. This may include areas like financial literacy, employment/education, benefits acquisition, healthy relationship building, strengthening community connections, healthy cooking, etc. They will provide direct support to residents by managing and creating welcoming community spaces, including the front desk, where residents can seek and receive assistance. This role aims to provide a strong support system for education and empowerment in the community. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to continuously learn about homelessness, supportive housing, and the behavioral health challenges often associated with people experiencing homelessness. They will understand and be able to support housing first models, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care practices. Requirements

Facilitation: Proficiency in guiding discussions and meetings, ensuring that all voices are heard and that objectives are met effectively.
Resource Navigation: Skills in identifying and connecting participants with appropriate resources and services to meet their needs.
Outreach: Capability to actively promote services and programs to the community to raise awareness and encourage participation.
Curriculum Implementation Experience in implementing educational programs or materials that are relevant and tailored to the needs of participants.
Coordination of Service Delivery: Ability to organize and oversee the execution of services, ensuring alignment with goals and efficient use of resources.
Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Demonstrate abilities to conduct self-directed tasks with limited supervision. Demonstrate abilities to evaluate implemented plans and address areas of improvement.
Flexibility and Adaptability: Comfortable navigating the unknown and able to make decisions with limited information. Can easily transition from one task to the next and work in a fast-paced environment that changes frequently. Ability to be creative and flexible with service deliveries.

Responsibilities

Assist in programming schedule
Support the Life Skills Director and collaborate with the Marshall Street Landing case managers to deliver the activities and training to residents as scheduled.
Foster relationships with residents and encourage their participation and collaboration in various programs and upcoming initiatives.
Assist residents in identifying and accessing local resources, support services, and educational opportunities to enhance their well-being and personal growth.
Build and maintain productive professional relationships and collaborations with Administrators, Volunteers, and community organizations.
Provide strategic updates to the Life Skill Director regarding evaluation and implementation of activities following Family Tree policies and procedures, existing contracts, and grant agreements.
Coordinate the delivery of program objectives, procedures, and standards, as specified by the Life Skills Director, ensuring adherence to contractual requirements and that the defined scope of services is provided.
Support Family Tree's mission and model the Family Tree values of commitment, integrity, accountability, diversity/inclusiveness, collaboration, and advocacy.
In coordination with the Life Skills Director, facilitate regular and effective Team meetings to build a positive and integrated team.
Maintain regular check-ins (supervision) with the Program Director to help them develop their professional development goals, manage and track the outcomes of their work, and encourage them to advocate for themselves.
