About The Position

The Life Safety Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fire alarm, access control, video surveillance, and other life safety systems in commercial and industrial environments. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong technical aptitude who are looking to build their expertise in life safety systems while ensuring customers remain protected and code-compliant.

Requirements

  • Experience with commercial fire alarm systems and life safety technologies.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 72, NFPA 70 (NEC), and applicable state and local codes.
  • Experience with leading manufacturers such as Notifier, Fire-Lite, Silent Knight, Edwards/EST, Siemens, Bosch, Lenel, Avigilon, or similar platforms.
  • Experience performing system programming, startup, and commissioning activities.
  • Must have a current, valid driver's license in the state of which you are applying and have the ability to meet our company driving standards.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET certification (Fire Alarm Systems) or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
  • Manufacturer certifications and/or low-voltage licensing where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, test, and service fire alarm, access control, video surveillance, and other low-voltage life safety systems in accordance with applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and company standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on life safety systems to ensure reliable operation and compliance.
  • Diagnose system issues, identify deficiencies, and implement effective solutions while minimizing disruption to customer operations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and project specifications.
  • Conduct system testing and commissioning to verify proper functionality and compliance with NFPA standards and local requirements.
  • Complete service reports, installation documentation, and work orders accurately and thoroughly.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding project status, service findings, recommended repairs, and system operation.
  • Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and other team members to ensure successful project completion.
  • Maintain company tools, vehicles, and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  • Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and industry best practices during installation and service activities.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
