Join our team to make a difference to British Columbians after brain injury and stroke! We’re looking for an awesome person to join our team as Life Redesign Coach - CONNECT Parksville, a brand-new location for CONNECT. As a guest on the traditional territory of the Coast Salish Nations, which is home to the Snaw-Naw-As First Nation and the Qualicum First Nation, you will have the important job of representing CONNECT and building strong community relationships as a good neighbor, partner and friend, so we walk this important journey together. GREAT PEOPLE, OUTSTANDING SERVICES: To help people redesign their lives after brain injury or stroke we need great people who share our values, breathe our culture, believe in our mission and vision, and feel a sense of purpose in their work as they contribute to making lives better. They value open, honest communication, are willing to support, encourage and challenge themselves and others to be better, and they have a desire to learn and grow to be the best they can be for the people we serve. JOB SUMMARY: As a Life Redesign Coach, you will join a Coaching Resource team of professional support staff (OT, PT, SLP, etc.), including service resource, people resource, decision support, and admin coaches to deliver the CONNECT promise – Life Redesign after brain injury and stroke. As a Life Redesign Coach, you will work in partnership with the people who live at CONNECT. Using coaching methods, you will help the people we support set and achieve goals based on what is most meaningful to them. A typical day can include helping people with: Getting ready for the day, completing exercise programs, personal care, getting out into the community, participating in recreation, community events and leisure interests, meal preparation, and, most importantly, helping them reach their individual Life Redesign goals. Participation in relevant life situations drives the residents’ goals; Service plans leveraging neuroplasticity by pursuing a person’s goals in real-life, non-institutional settings; A “doing-with” coaching approach with blended job roles and a multi-professional coaching team; Hire for fit based on personality and values, not qualifications. Our values are: Kindness, Flexibility, Creativity, Learning, Passion and Joy. If these values resonate with you, and if you’re interested in a diverse and rewarding career, we would love to hear from you!
