About The Position

The Life Enrichment Specialist (LES), reporting directly to the Director of Education & Engagement, provides leadership, training, and operational oversight for life enrichment and memory care programming across multiple Cedarhurst communities, traveling as needed to support locations requiring assistance. This position works within Cedarhurst communities to support Life Enrichment teams, ensure consistent delivery of high-quality and engaging programming, and promote resident well-being and family engagement. The LES oversees community initiatives such as the implementation and monitoring of electronic life enrichment platforms, family engagement programs, and Cedarhurst’s memory care model. The Life Enrichment Specialist also plays a key role in mentoring Life Enrichment leaders, fostering positive resident and family experiences, supporting new community openings and acquisitions, and promoting Cedarhurst’s core values through meaningful engagement and person-centered approaches. This role requires frequent weekly travel across assigned communities and includes an auto and phone allowance.

Requirements

  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a senior care community, with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Social Work, Gerontology, Nursing, Health Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • State-required license or certification as a Life Enrichment/Activity Professional preferred.
  • Self-motivated and accountable with a proactive approach to completing tasks and achieving results.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support Community Leadership and Life Enrichment teams in optimizing each resident’s well-being.
  • Apply critical thinking to develop and implement approaches that enhance resident engagement.
  • Support existing Cedarhurst communities and assist during acquisitions and new community openings.
  • Oversee community implementation and monitoring of electronic life enrichment platforms, family engagement programs, memory care programming, and other life enrichment initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other regional support leaders to enhance residents’ lives through engagement and programming.
  • Coordinate education, training, and mentoring opportunities for Life Enrichment team members.
  • Implement and monitor adoption of the Company’s memory care model.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of life enrichment, activities, and memory care programming in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Provide ongoing learning and skill development related to life enrichment and memory care best practices.
  • Fill in as full time Life Enrichment Director or Coordinator in communities as needed.
  • Conduct on site visits to ensure Life Enrichment and Memory Care standards are met.
  • Provide guidance on resident rights concerns and grievances with residents, families, and employees.
  • Develop resources and remain current with emerging best practices in life enrichment and memory care.
  • Flexibility to assist additional regions life enrichment programs as needed.
  • Assist with hiring and on-boarding of new Life Enrichment Directors and Coordinators.
  • Other duties as assigned.
