About The Position

The Life Enrichment Coordinator (LEC) is essential to enhancing the quality of life for residents at Betty’s Village. Through thoughtfully planned and diverse activities, this role fosters personal growth, social interaction, and resident fulfillment. The LEC actively recruits and trains volunteers to help bring these activities to life, creating a collaborative and engaging environment for all. By providing a well-rounded monthly schedule of in-house experiences, the coordinator ensures that residents have meaningful and enriching opportunities to participate, connect, and enjoy. In addition, the coordinator continuously gathers feedback to refine and improve the program, recognizing and celebrating volunteers' contributions to maintain a vibrant, supportive community. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current CPI certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, team members, and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Must possess social perceptiveness to assess and understand others’ reactions and behaviors.
  • Ability to resolve multiple complex issues simultaneously while remaining calm in stressful situations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to accept and apply performance-based feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize appropriate methods for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately, as mandated by state law.
  • Proactively recruit, onboard, train, and support volunteers, ensuring they are prepared to effectively assist with activities, special events, and resident engagement.
  • Design and implement a diverse array of recreational, educational, and wellness activities aligned with residents' unique interests, abilities, and goals to promote engagement and a sense of belonging.
  • Maintain and consistently update a detailed monthly calendar of activities for Betty’s Village, ensuring schedules are accessible and clearly communicated to residents, team members, and support teams to encourage broad participation.
  • Gather and evaluate feedback from residents and team members to measure program effectiveness and continuously improve activities based on resident interests, preferences, and needs.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to volunteers during activities, fostering a positive, collaborative environment that enhances the experience for residents and volunteers alike.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all participants, adhering to best practices for safety and inclusivity.
  • Develop and maintain community partnerships, inviting community members and organizations to collaborate and sponsor activities.
  • Assist residents in identifying and accessing community resources and services, including transportation options, to support participation in activities and events.
  • Encourage resident choice by regularly gathering input regarding interests, preferences, and desired activities when planning programming.
  • Adhere to Opportunity Village’s established policies and procedures.
  • May be assigned other duties as needed.
